Projects » Blimpbots

When Jason Dietrich, an art student at U of M, announced that he wanted to build robotic blimps that would flock like birds, Jeff didn't pass on the opportunity to help. So, Jeff, Jason, and Sam Wintermute spent an interdisciplinary, mildly insane, semester in early 2007 building and flying Blimpbots. The PCB design, microcontroller code, and computer vision tracking and control system are now freely available. Funded by GROCS 2007.
